22/06/20 – risks for children relative to Covid-19 – Robin Sutcliffe of the Children’s Play Policy Forum Writes

At this crucial stage in the Covid-19 lockdown there has been a lack of clarity on the statistics relating to children and the effect that policies were having on children’s lives. The Play Safety Forum identified this and has tried to put the record straight with a clear analysis of the statistics and a suggestion that Risk Benefit Assessment should be used to inform policies going forward. On the basis of this report the Children’s Play Policy Forum recommends that children should be encouraged to play together outside  and that playgrounds and parks should be opened to facilitate this.
